Rachel Duff

Rachel is a 4th year medical student at the University of Edinburgh, and graduate from Imperial College London with a first class honours in iBSc medical sciences with biomedical engineering.

She’s an advocate for widening participation in medicine, having acted as regional head for the charity In2MedSchool and currently leading national research into improving access for these students. Additionally, she created and hosts the podcast Health Unplugged, with the aim of creating a safe place for patients to share their personal experiences of chronic disease and health, as well as educating healthcare professionals and the public on what life is truly like with different conditions.

Outside of her passions to improve equality in medicine and the patient experience, she is a national research officer for the National MedTech Foundation and highly enjoys academic research. Rachel is a keen aspiring surgeon and wants to be a source of inspiration for others who also entered medicine as a first generation university student.
