Dr. Parmis Vafapour is an FY1 doctor at Frimley Health Trust, a Barts and the London Alumn and a passionate advocate for empowering underrepresented groups in medicine. As the CEO and Founder of First Gen Doctors, she has created a community-based platform that supports aspiring applicants, medical students, and doctors at all stages of their careers. The platform addresses the grey areas of medical training while fostering a space for growth and mutual upliftment.
In addition to her clinical work, Parmis is deeply involved in research, with multiple first-author publications in respected medical journals. She advocates for the pursuit of knowledge and continuous learning as essential components of professional development. As Co-Founder of The Empowerment Project, a grassroots initiative aimed at combating discrimination across all intersections of medicine, she has demonstrated compassionate leadership, earning the Student Enhanced Engagement and Development Award at Queen Mary University of London (QMUL). Parmis was also honored with a Commitment Awardfrom the Barts and the London Student Association for her work reinstating the Women in Healthcare Society as president.
