Amaka Dibigbo

Amaka Dibigbo is a final-year medical student with a Master’s degree in Public Health, committed to advancing health equity and community-centred solutions. Driven by a passion for social justice, Amaka co-founded Communect, an agency focused on accelerating diversity in health research by engaging underserved communities and promoting person- and community-centred approaches. Her work includes extensive collaboration with the Welsh Government and Public Health Wales, where she has advocated for equitable health policies and directly engaged with diverse Cardiff communities to ensure public health initiatives address the unique needs of all populations.

Amaka’s approach to healthcare is informed by a mentorship centred on the business side of healthcare, allowing her to blend clinical insight with strategic thinking. This perspective has helped her translate expertise into practical, community-informed solutions. Her commitment to health equity is grounded in the principle of co-production, which she views as essential to designing accessible health services that genuinely reflect the needs of those they serve.

Currently a candidate for a board position at the Co-production Network for Wales, Amaka seeks to further her impact on public policy through collaborative, community-led approaches. She is dedicated to fostering inclusive and innovative solutions to improve health outcomes and advance health equity across diverse communities.
